The Organ Donor
Published in Paperback by Double Dragon Publishing (July, 2003)
Author: Matthew Warner
Average review score:

A fast-paced and engaging read
It is obvious from the first page that Warner put a lot of care into "The Organ Donor." Every word is carefully handpicked, creating a sleek, consistent story. The characters are real, the facts are well-researched, the dialogue is natural, and the action flawless.

There are moments of genuine terror in this novel. There are times where the suspense will have you cringing in your seat. But, there is also a brutal humanity to the story. You will be taken on an adventure through sympathy, sorrow, depression, anticipation, love, support, anger, happiness and loss.

I highly recommend this book! It sparkles with originality rarely seen in author's debut novels.

Organization Change: Theory and Practice
Published in Paperback by Sage Publications (15 July, 2002)
Author: W. Warner Burke
Average review score:

comprehensive text on change
So much of the literature on change is often a simplistic cookbook claiming change can be executed in 7 easy steps. Burke provides the reader with the theoretical background and takes one through the multiple considerations when executing organizational change. I applaud Dr Burke for revealing the complexity of change and providing insights into the practice of change management. This is a primer for all who are engaged especially in large scale transformational change as it clearly provides one the background to help one educate others on why the change agent does what she does.

Passchendaele
Published in Paperback by Wordsworth Editions Ltd (June, 1999)
Author: Philip Warner
Average review score:

Missing in action, no dog tags
This is an older account of this famous, or infamous, battle and acute in its description of this classic ultimate as a quagmire, beyond even Verdun, but more so in its indirect critique, from a military historian, hang the stiff upper lip. Perhaps this is the most horrendous action of them all, in the major league of battles in the wasteland, World War I style. What I find remarkable is the picture of the English numero uno general Haig, known to me from picture book photographs, but not known to me as a general, and a most flawed one, whose tactics betray the core obtuseness of the military tacticians of this era, with a studied indifference or inability to grasp, or even visit to see, the hell they created in abstractions. Even Lloyd George, stuck with him, had become restive at his gallant notions of cavalry charges applied to this inferno of the artillery, where a hundred thousand ended up 'missing', no dog tags for the archaeologists of mud. All that was gained, a few kilometers, was lost, or regained and lost again, and two thirds of the way through I found my normal sense of loyalty yielding to innovations in political philsophy, the 'right' of mutiny, perhaps the right and duty, for indifferent generals in luxurious castles, adding the forces of attack deserve no such battles, til finally, by the end, I was browsing the maps, what route might a deserter take from all this? Of course, as the author notes, this battle was, in a final note of its unforgiving nature, the evidence for much pacifism, even during the coming of the Thirties rearmaments, converging toward another war.

Pastorius Modern Elec Bass CD
Published in Paperback by Warner Brothers Publications (23 November, 1993)
Authors: Jaco Pastorius, Jerry Jemmott, and Warner Bros. Publications
Average review score:

Insight into Jaco's Technique from the man himself!
This instructional book gives many exercises from Jaco himself. It has a cd that comes with it that helps out. It covers harmonics (has a chart) and ways to improve your left hand speed, precision, and clarity. The book itself is clear enough that you can use it to teach yourself. Though the book goes with the video (of the same name) so it's good to get both. Also, on the cd is a jam session with jaco and an interview. All in all it's a great value and no jaco collection is complete without it.

Piano Student / Primer Level
Published in Paperback by Warner Brothers Publications (22 March, 1985)
Authors: David Carr Glover, Louise Garrow, and Warner Bros Publications
Average review score:

Excellent beginner book
This is an excellent book for young kids beginning to learn the piano. It starts with very simple tunes and gradually introduces more complex elements. Kids who are just beginning to learn the piano can have the pleasure of playing tunes rather than doing monotonous mechanical finger work. However, I am not a musician by a long shot and we do not intend to make our kids into concert pianists. We want our kids to have fun and to learn and enjoy music and this book works wonderfully for us.

The Poison Frog Mystery
Published in Library Binding by Bt Bound (January, 2000)
Authors: Gertrude Chandler Warner and Charles Tang
Average review score:

It's a very good book
I am six years old and my mother read this book to me. This is the second best Boxcar Children book we have read. My favorite so far is The Mystery in Washington, DC. I like this book because it takes place in a zoo, and it has lots of endangered animals in it. The mystery was full of surprises, but Mommy guessed the right guy as always.

Politics and Change in the Middle East: Sources of Conflict and Accommodation
Published in Paperback by Prentice Hall (03 July, 1997)
Authors: Robert F. Siebert, Jon G. Wagner, Roy R. Andersen, Robert F. Seibert, and Jon G. Warner
Average review score:

Good source for understanding Middle East
I read this book as a required text for my Middle East Politics class which was taught by one of the authors, Prof. Seibert. I think it gives an accurate walkthrough to the history of Middle East Politics. It stays clear of any bias while trying to examine and integrate economic, social and political factors together. I enjoyed reading and discussing this work immensely. I would strongly recommend it.
